This year for Valentine’s Day, my kiddos and I got together to create these adorable DIY Handprint Keychains. They were a fairly easy project and resulted in the cutest little Valentine’s Day gifts that we’re going to send off to their grandparents.
We used this Shrinky Dinks paper, these key rings, and these jump rings for this project and I was able to purchase them all easily with Amazon Prime.
I started by painting my kiddos hands with their favorite color.
Then we pressed them onto the textured side of the Shrinky Dinks paper.
I cut their handprints out as closely as I could and punched a hole in each one for the keychain.
I baked them according to the paper instructions and let the kids create their own drawings with the extra paper in the meantime.
Once the handprints were done baking and cooled, they looked like this.
I grabbed one of the jump rings and one of the key rings and attached them to the prepunched hole in the handprint using my needle nose pliers.
And it was that easy, ha! Doesn’t even seem right for a cute craft like this one to be so easy, does it? They turned out so great that I’m actually planning to buy more paper to have them make me a set!
These keychains are going to make the most darling little Valentine’s Day package for our grandparents alongside some fun candy and a card.
