With Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse DVD and Blu-ray now released at Walmart, I’ve been inspired to create the perfect movie night snack. One of my favorite recipes to play with is the classic Puppy Chow recipe because it’s the quintessential mom next door snack and it’s near impossible to mess up (even if it’s, “messed up,” it’s delicious!). Since one of our favorite cereals, Honeycomb®, looks a little like spiderwebs, I decided to put a Honeycomb® spin on our tried and true favorite.

Start with a large mixing bowl and measure out some Honeycomb® cereal.

In a separate smaller bowl, I add some peanut butter and chocolate and melt it together in my microwave. I stir in some vanilla once the chocolate and peanut butter have melted together and are smooth when stirred together.

I pour the melted mixture over the cereal and use a spatula to coat all the cereal.

Once the cereal is coated, I add in powdered sugar and toss it all to coat.

It’s such an easy recipe and so delicious. In fact, I prefer this Honeycomb® Spider Chow over the classic version because the cereal holds it’s crispiness better and gives it a crave-worthy texture. The end result is a deliciously chocolate covered spiderweb that’s the perfect snack for a family movie night surrounding the release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Even my husband was excited for the movie night. He was so cute when he saw that I brought home the new Spider-Man movie and saw that I was making one of his favorite snacks. It brought out the little boy in him.

The Academy Award winning movie introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask. Now available at Walmart, you can host your own family movie night with Miles and your family’s favorite cereals like Honeycomb® and Honey Bunches of Oats® with Strawberry for the perfect snack.
