With a family as large as mine, we need a designated kid’s table for Thanksgiving. And if I’m being honest, it’s probably the more fun place to sit. I usually fill the table with crayons, a fun placemat and a tasty kid-friendly treat. This year, I’ve decided to transform some of my kiddos favorite wafers from Voortman Bakery into festive little Thanksgiving treats. It couldn’t be easier to make these kids table treats and the holiday Chocolate Mint flavor from Voortman Bakery is so delicious the hardest part of this whole thing is not eating them all for myself.
First things first, I grab a fresh package of Voortman Bakery Chocolate Mint Wafers.
Then I melt some brown melting candy in the microwave.
I dunk the wafers, one at a time into the melted candy and then set them on parchment paper.
Before the candy can dry, I sprinkle on some fun sprinkles. I used red and a fun white and gold mixture for fall.
I let the candy set completely for a couple of hours before removing the cookies from the parchment paper. From here, I can display them on a cake stand, or use them as a place setting at the kids table. The possibilities are endless since they look as delicious as they taste!
The deliciously crispy Voortman’s Chocolate Mint wafers add texture to these treats, making them just as delicious for adults. Just don’t tell my daughter or she’ll yell at me for eating her cookies, ha! This fun little recipe is also east to customize for any holiday or event. Even favorite sports teams! Just switch up the colors of the melting candy and sprinkles for a totally custom treat that’s positively delectable!
