In our family, Marvel super heroes are not just an interest, but a daily part of our lives. With two boys & a comic loving husband, I know details about each & every Marvel hero that I never thought I would know. For instance, did you know that Captain America can use Thor’s hammer? Or that he once fought Wolverine AS a wolverine himself? Yup, it’s pretty nerdy up in the Sosa house.

The new release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier is happening on September 9th & to celebrate with a family movie night filled with geekery, I whipped up a batch of Super Hero M&M’s® Cookies. A spin on classic chocolate chip cookies, we call them Super Hero Cookies because the first time I made them I was told, “Mom, these cookies are awesome. You’re my favorite super hero!” I’ll take it! #HeroesEatMMs

INGREDIENTS:  one cup of white sugar, one cup of brown sugar, one cup of butter, one cup of oil, one teaspoon of salt, one egg beaten with one tablespoon of milk, one teaspoon of cream of tartar, one teaspoon of baking soda, one teaspoon of vanilla, three and a half to four cups of flour & a 12 ounce bag of M&M’s.

You can find all of your ingredients at your local Walmart while you’re out buying your copy of the latest release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It is so easy to just grab everything all at once store. Don’t forget to grab your coupon over at starting September 11th for $5.00 the movie when you purchase M&M’s.

DIRECTIONS:  Mix the first nine ingredients together & then add the flour & chocolate chips to the batter.  Mix well & then drop by teaspoons full onto a non-stick pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12 – 14 minutes. I prefer my cookies more on the chewy side, so I baked them for 12 minutes & they were perfect.

It’s always fun to add a little excitement to a classic recipe with a twist, so the boys just love it when I dye the dunk milk a special color for them. Collin has been especially into green lately, so we had some green milk with our Super Hero M&M Cookies. These are such a perfect movie snack to enjoy together with your family. We love letting the boys sit at the coffee table with their movie treats & these make it all the more fun & special.
