When I share recipes here, it’s important to me that they feel doable. Like, “I just wrangled three kids, forgot to defrost the chicken, and still want dinner to feel like a win” kind of doable. My Ham and Gouda Sliders? Total win.
These little sandwiches come together with buttery brioche buns (aka the softest, most luxurious bread on the planet), layers of ham, and a generous sprinkle of shredded gouda. Yes, shredded. Not slices. Because shredded gouda melts into every nook and cranny for that glorious cheese pull that basically makes time stop for a second.
This is also an excellent excuse to use up any leftover holiday ham that’s been giving you the side-eye from the fridge. Or just grab some fresh deli ham, both work beautifully.
Now here comes the magic: a quick mix of melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds gets poured all over the tops of the sliders. I don’t just brush it on. I pour it like I’m hosting a one-woman flavor blessing ceremony. The result? Crispy, golden tops and melty, cheesy insides that make these sliders straight-up irresistible.
They’re perfect for game day spreads, laid-back get-togethers, or nights when dinner just needs to be good with very little effort. And if there are leftovers? You’ll be thrilled to eat them cold, standing in front of the fridge like a goblin at 11 p.m. (No judgment—I’ve done it.)
